10 Trends Down on the Beat

#1

Double or Triple denim
Originated for the hard working class and where they should have stayed.  There are very few who can pull this trend off and unless you’re going for sexy junkyard girl, pseudo onesies should never be encouraged.
Twenty8Twelve

Jeremy Scott

D&G

#2

Sockless males
Apparently the middle ages tradition of showing one’s ankles to seduce has become mans new trend. Never before have I noticed how skinny boys’ ankles are. But when paired with rolled-up, straight-cut jeans and loafers, you’re guaranteed a risqué glimpse of some lean talus.

On another foot note. High tops with a suit? No.

#3

Over-the-knee or thigh-high stockings
Schoolies, juvies, call ‘em what you will, but leave their fashion statements as something to be desired. Unless you go the other way and dress hyper-crazy … leave the naughty schoolgirl at home and channel innocence another way.

#4

70’s

Unless you’re an old soul, this trend can be done a brutal injustice. And while I personally love people who get it right, Stevie Nicks + Courtney Love does not a nice outfit make.

Someone who got it right.

#5

Impracticality

Crop top in the snow?

And of course Lady Gaga shoes

#6

Really wierd layering

#7

Ruffles on Men

Are the chains symbolic of what we'd have to do to get most men to wear something like this?

#8

Mustard

Remeber that trend a few years ago when everything was purple and mustard? Some people still think its cool

#9

Leopard Spots

...Will never go out of fashion much to my chagrin

#10

Quiffs

Funny fringes for fashionable boys who want to be like birds

10 Trendy Beats

It's NYFW time again and as a fashionista it is my duty to keep atop of all things trendy. And while I love fashion, I feel that there is more to it then clothes. It blends the boundaries between art, craft and culture and represents lives and loves of the individuals that we see daily.

Androgyny
(is such a hard word to spell)

With American states slowly updating marriage laws, more boys embracing their girly side and transgender ops on the rise, culture is astonishing fashion and the world. Yet again.

Trendy Beat #9

Furniture and Fittings
Strangely enough, while looking through Casa Vogue and the net I realised that while interior colours comply with clothes, their designs do not. Huh.
